24 01 2012

Look what I found! This is the trailer of the Italian film we shot in Argentina in 2008. Directed by Alberto Simone and starring Lorenza Indovina and David Coco. Originally the title was “La luce nel cuore”. It was a movie made for Television and only broadcasted in Italy by Rai, so I was not able to watch it. But today I found the trailer, and well … here you have it, better late than never!

My First Original Screenplay!!

29 09 2011

I haven’t written about my work for a while. So… what have I been doing for the past year and a half? Well… I’ve been writing a screenplay, and I became so involved with it that it took up almost all of my time.

This is my first original feature film screenplay, and I have had a great time writing it. It’s been very hard work, but I am happy to say that I am right now finishing the final draft.

It’s a Fantasy Adventure for children, and I am very proud of it!

360 for Gordon Round

13 04 2011

Jude Law and Rachel Weisz on set. Pic from http://www.imnotobsessed.com

A few weeks ago my Londoner friend Gordon Round gave me great news; he would be part of the new Fernando Meirelles drama “360”, an adaptation of the 1900 Arthur Schnitzler play “La Ronde”, written by Peter Morgan. It is a look at what happens when partners from different social backgrounds engage in physical relationships.

When he told me that he would be performing next to Anthony Hopkins, Rachel Weisz and Jude Law I couldn’t get more excited.

And so, the shooting begun March 21st in London. Where Gordon embodied “S. Millborough”, a Minessota Department of Corrections officer. I can’t wait for 2012 to see him on duty! If you can’t wait either, check out 360 blog following the entire filming stages.

Break a leg my friend!

“There be dragons” hits Spain!

30 03 2011

On March 25th the feature film “There be Dragons” premiered in Spain raising 893,503 euros and more than 139,000 viewers through its first weekend.

It is an epic story set in the turbulent era of the Spanish Civil War that unveils a compelling drama full of passion, betrayal, love and religion. It tells the story of Jose Maria Escrivá de Balaguer, the founder of Opus Dei (Charlie Cox) and Manuel Torres (Wes Bentley), his childhood friend, who are separated by the political turmoil of the pre-war and choose opposite paths when the conflict erupts.

Written and directed by the two-time Oscar nominee Roland Joffé. Also features performances by Dougray Scott, Olga Kurylenko, Ana Torrent, Geraldine Chaplin and Rodrigo Santoro among others. With the cinematographic debut of my own sister, Dolores Reynals, embodying the Saint’s sister as Carmen Escrivá.

The production was led by Ignacio Núñez and Ignacio Gómez Sancha, whom I had the pleasure of meeting last year in Madrid. It was filmed mostly on location in Argentina, especially Buenos Aires, Luján and the Sierra de la Ventana.

Congratulations Sis! I can’t wait to see it!
