This week I was working in the local production of “Sounds of the World – Buenos Aires” a project created by StereoSonique Films together with Coca-Cola and Televisa to present the major cities in Latin America through its most representative images and sounds.

With an extensive tour we were able to capture all the diversity, large parks and the streets filled with buses, the old world cafes, colonial architecture, the tango, fun outdoor markets and the hectic pace of the most visited city in South America.

Stay tuned, we will be able to watch it soon!

Waste Land at the GreenFilmFest

30 08 2011

On Sunday, at the GreenFilmFest (International environment Film Festival) I saw an excellent Academy Award nominee documentary, “Waste Land.”

It tells how Vik Muniz, the contemporary best-selling Brazilian artist in the U.S., returns home to take an emotional journey from Jardim Gramacho, the world’s largest garbage dump on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, to the heights of international art stardom. Vik works with the so-called “catadores”, collectors of recyclable materials, who live and work in the garbage and are transformed by the power of art.

Directed by Lucy Walker, Fernando Meirelles as executive producer and music by Moby.

A truly must see!

On March 25th the feature film “There be Dragons” premiered in Spain raising 893,503 euros and more than 139,000 viewers through its first weekend.

It is an epic story set in the turbulent era of the Spanish Civil War that unveils a compelling drama full of passion, betrayal, love and religion. Written and directed by the two-time Oscar nominee Roland Joffé. Also features performances by Dougray Scott, Olga Kurylenko, Ana Torrent, Geraldine Chaplin and Rodrigo Santoro among others. With the cinematographic debut of my own sister, Dolores Reynals, embodying the Saint’s sister as Carmen Escrivá.

The production was led by Ignacio Núñez and Ignacio Gómez Sancha, whom I had the pleasure of meeting last year in Madrid. It was filmed mostly on location in Argentina, especially Buenos Aires, Luján and the Sierra de la Ventana.

HSBC TV ADS!

6 10 2009

hsbcThese past weeks I’ve been working as 2nd AD in Buenos Aires for the production company Nunchaku Cine SRL in three TV ads for the HSBC bank. Directed by Nicolas Kasakoff and Roi Ricci, featuring Carla Pandolfi, Emiliano Pandelo and Esteban Lamothe. To make them we had to rely on the work of professional puppeteers and FX giving life to inanimate objects. The commercials intended for the Argentine market, will be launched on national TV before year’s end.
